Mobil 1 Tetrathlon

Introduction

Greetings and salutations!

Welcome to the first annual Mobil 1 Tetrathlon! This event will serve as the appetizer before the main course, which will be (a renamed version of) the Magnetic Fields 30 Year Anniversary Invitational (I will make a separate post regarding that later).

Overview

This contest has Tetrathlon in its name for a reason. The essence of it is that it consists of four different competitions, each lasting Monday-Friday (weekends reserved for entering the scores into the leaderboard spreadsheet and week-end summaries). They will all vary in objectives, rules and scoring. It's all basically a month of gimmicks.

Each competition will be revealed on a Sunday at 22:00 UTC and from that very moment until Friday, 22:00 UTC, the participants will be allowed to compete in them. There is no limit for attempts. This means you can steal a victory at any time during the active days (and vice versa!).

Contest schedule

I've pretty much explained this one, but I'll put it into an example now to make everything clear:

Week 1:
1. [Sunday 22 UTC] Competition announcement and description
2. [Sunday 22:00 UTC - Friday 22:00 UTC] Action!
3. [Friday 22 UTC - Sunday] Checking if every participant has delivered footage of their run + Entering scores into the spreadsheet
4. [Saturday & Sunday] Results reveal + Next competition teaser + Discussion

Repeat the above for each remaining week.

IMPORTANT: Runs must be submitted within the Action time frame (before Friday 22:00 UTC). Failing to do so will result in disqualification from the competition.

FIRST COMPETITION STARTS THIS SUNDAY (FEB 10) @ 22:00 UTC

Ranking system

Each competition will have a different goal, but the scores will be compared and rankings will determine the amount of points awarded. The points will be given for every competition and summed up in the end. Those sums will finally be compared and whoever ends up with the most - wins the whole contest!

Points guide:
1st: 8 points
2nd: 7 points
3rd: 6 points
4th: 5 points
5th: 4 points
6th: 3 points
7th: 2 points
8th: 1 point

Rules

The general rules are as follows:

WEEK 1: Hard Mode

Vehicle: Any from the A6 class
Stage: Parkanaur (arcade)
Objective: Finish with the fastest time possible.
Rules:
° HUD must be turned off completely (no minimap, no speedometer, no progress bar, no timer, no signs) from start to finish;
° Co-driver sounds must be turned off (engine sounds must be turned on for proof of unedited footage);
° Camera must be locked in cockpit view from start to finish;
° Transmission must be set to manual;

IMPORTANT: Videos must be private until results reveal (they must be sent directly to me).

Breaking any of these rules will result in a disqualification.

WEEK 2: Lights Out!

Vehicle: MF Turbo
Stage: Chirdonhead (simulation)
Objective: Finish with the most points possible
Rules:
° Headlights must be turned off from start to finish;
° Each participant must entirely complete 5 squares of the progress bar (sections between checkpoints) without touching any roads;
° You may use the cheat code for MF Turbo (but nothing else!);
° Videos are allowed to be public and posted here;
Points guide (IMPORTANT): Everyone starts with 30 points. Five points will be removed for every lacking square of the required 5. A single point will be removed for:
° Each missed bridge;
° Each time you go the wrong way on a junction;
° Each tree (includes the forest borders), bridge, log, fence or pole hit;
° Each rollover;
° Each checkpoint gate, directional sign (the orange arrows signaling an upcoming turn) or barrier (the red & black ones) knocked over;
In case of a tie, the driver with the faster time wins.

Breaking any of these rules will result in a disqualification.

WEEK 3: Close Quarters

Vehicle: Nissan Almera
Stages: Moon and Star, Bothwell, Whitchester
Objective: Finish with the most damage possible (keyword being finish)
Rules:
° This competition must be completed in Championship mode;
° Your footage must include the service area screen (where every component and its damage are shown);
° Videos are allowed to be public and posted here;

Breaking any of these rules will result in a disqualification.

WEEK 4: Show-off Blow-off

Vehicle: Any
Stage: Any
Objective: Pull off a stunt that will stun the judges the most!
Rules:
° The footage must be no longer than 10 seconds;

Breaking any of these rules will result in a disqualification.

PLOT TWIST
You will also be the judges! Every video must be sent privately, so that no other participant sees it (it's an anti-bias procedure). After all has been collected, the videos will be reuploaded on the Internet by me and posted here on Saturday. Every participant will be required to privately send me their ratings for every video on the scale from 1 to 10. As it is done in private, the sender doesn't have to rate themselves. If they do, that rating will simply be disregarded.
